Angelita J. Powell, 70 of New Haven, born to James Prentice and Sadie Claxton February 10, 1942 in Nevis, West Indies, passed away May 26, 2012. She leaves to cherish her memory; son, Clifford (Alexis) Powell of Hamden; daughters, Jacqueline Smith of Hamden and Moultrina Powell of New Haven; sisters, Valerie Claxton-Morrison of New Haven, brother, Orville Claxton of New Haven; 8 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was predeceased by her sister, Violet Huggins. A celebration of her life will take place on Saturday, June 2, 2012 at 9:30AM at Saint Luke’s Episcopal Church, 111 Whalley Avenue, New Haven with calling hours at the church from 9 – 9:30AM.
