Annie Cannon, 98

Annie Cannon, 98, of New Haven, born May 25, 1917 in Augusta, GA to the late Len Cofer and Mattie Cofer, passed away September 28, 2015 at Arden House in Hamden.

Annie Cannon retired from Yale New Haven Hospital after 30 years of service. She was president of the Usher Board at Friendship Missionary Baptist Church in Hamden for over 30 years. She played the piano, enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, listening to the music of James Brown and cooking.

She leaves to cherish her memory; grandson Terrance Cannon and his wife Linda of New Haven; grandson James Luke Cannon also of New Haven; grandson Sam Streater and his wife Mary of Hamden; great granddaughter Tenisha Blakey and her husband Reggie of New Haven; 4 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; 13 great great grandchildren and a host of family and friends. Along with her parents, Mrs. Cannon was predeceased by her beloved husband James Cannon, son Sam Cofer, daughter Elease Cannon and granddaughter Sheryl Cannon. 

Celebration of her life will take place on Friday October 9, 2015 at 11:00 AM at Friendship Missionary Baptist Church; 26 Edwards Street Hamden, CT 06517 with visitation Friday at the church from 10 – 11AM. Interment will follow at Beaverdale Cemetery, New Haven, CT. Services by Howard K.
