Charles W. Evans, 79 of New Haven, CT passed away on Sunday August 21, 2011. Born to the late John Henry and Kathleen Evans on October 14, 1931 in Raleigh, NC. Charles was employed by the City of New Haven Board of Education as Head Custodian. He leaves to cherish his memory; daughter, Charlene Evans of Raleigh, NC and Charlese Evans of New Haven, CT; brother, James Evans of Baltimore, MD; long time companion, Carita Jones and 1 grandchild, Michael Charles Evans Douglas. He was predeceased by 3 brothers, and 2 sisters. A celebration of his life with military honors, will take place on Wednesday, August 24, 2011 at 11AM at Varick A M E Zion Church, 242 Dixwell Avenue, New Haven, CT 06511 with calling hours from 10 – 11AM.
