Charles L. Hubbard Jr. born February 26, 1951, to the late Charles and Rebecca Hubbard in Nottoway, Va., transitioned from this life on January 19, 2015 in New Haven.
Charles graduated from James Hillhouse High School where he played football. He worked at various restaurants as a chef. He also worked at Edge of the Woods Whole Foods Market where he met and touched the lives of many. He loved to smile and make the hearts of those around him smile as well. Charles worked for Dr. And Mrs. Jarecki as a Domestic Engineer for 15 years until he retired. Charles leaves to cherish his memories, special Aunt, Nannie Jeter, loving wife Gloria Hubbard, children, Erik (Kendra) Gates of Maryland, Binti Hawks of Chicago, Adoniyah Radcliffe of Israel, Yessaschar Radcliffe of Florida, and Bahtiyah Radcliffe of Texas. Brother, Fred Hubbard of New Haven, Sisters, Christine Hubbard of New Haven, Bernice Ford of Meridan, Ct. Uncles, Rex Hubbard of New York and Sye Lipscomb of New Haven. (10) grandchildren, (4) great grandchildren, (4)brother-in law (5)sister-in-law and a host of special Aunts, niece’s, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends. Charles is predeceased by his mother and father, Charles and Rebecca Hubbard, his sister Izone Hubbard, niece Milcah, nephew Tyree, and cousin “Big Boy.” A celebration of his life will take place Saturday, January 31, 2015 at 9AM at Howard K. Hill Funeral Services, 1287 Chapel St. New Haven, CT 06511 with visitation Saturday at the funeral home from 8 – 9AM. Interment will take place at Beaverdale Memorial Park, New Haven.
