Clarence Fitzgerald Jones, 81

Clarence Fitzgerald Jones, 81, of New Haven passed away Jan. 4, 2018.

He was born in New York City on Aug. 29, 1939, to the late Clarence Fitzgerald Jones, Sr. and Myrtle Henrietta (Rivers) Jones. He attended Our Lady of Lourdes Elementary School and George Washington High School. He served in the U.S. Navy and retired as a supervisor with Interdynamics Corp.

Known for his comical personality, love for the Yankees, and being a family man, Clarence who also was known as Pop-Pop” loved jazz music and watching the HGTV channel. Clarence leaves to cherish his memory, sons, Daryl (Theas) Jones, Terry DeVonish, and Keir (Wanda) Jones; sisters, Carol (Jonathan) Raines and Debbie (Robert) Santiago; 11 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a host of family and friends. He was predeceased by his wives, Barbara DeVonish and Melvina Bevado; son, Wayne Jones; daughter, Karen DeVonish; and grandchildren, Toya Jones and Daryl Jones, Jr.

A celebration of his life will take place Friday at 11 a.m. at Howard K. Hill Funeral Services, 1287 Chapel St, New Haven, CT 06511.
