Cora Kilpatrick Bell, 93, of New Haven, departed this life November 6, 2011. She was the widow of Benjamin Bell.
Born in Greenville, NC, September 12, 1918, she was the daughter of the late George and Julie Blount Kilpatrick.
Mrs. Bell was a member of Pitts Chapel UFWB Church where she served on the Mother’s Board, Missionary Board, Choir #1 and the Music Ministry.
She is survived by daughters, Jessie Powell and Lillie Mae Bell Kilpatrick; a stepdaughter, Delores Brito (Alphonse); a granddaughter, Gweniver Bell; nine great grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
She was predeceased by her grandchildren; Julie Cotten and Laurence Bell; son in-law, Bishop Jonathan Powell; a brother, Jesse Kilpatrick; and a sister in-law, Catherine Kilpatrick.
A celebration of Mrs. Bell’s life and legacy will be held Friday, November 11, 2011 at 12:00 P.M. at Pitts Chapel Church, 64 Brewster St., New Haven. Viewing will be held at the church from 10:00 A.M. ‑12:00 P.M. Burial will be Saturday at 10:00 A.M. in Beaverdale Memorial Park. Professional services entrusted to Curvin K.
