Coy Smith Jr., 79, of New Haven born on March 15, 1937 in Savannah, GA to the late Coy Sr. and Elnore Smith, passed away March 27, 2016.
Coy was gainfully employed by the New Haven Register as a press handler for 30 years. He will be remembered for his dutiful and honorable service in the United States Army. He enjoyed several past times such as sports, especially the Dallas Cowboys, and listening to his favorite R&B songs. He leaves behind to cherish his memory 2 daughters; Ronitha Howard and Annette (David) Huckaby both of Hamden; brother John (Margie) Carlton of New Haven, sisters; Dolores Maloney of FL, Vivian Polite of GA, Mamie (Burdell) Smith-Taylor of New Haven, 4 grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends. He is predeceased by his wife Anna E. Smith and brothers Frank and Marvin (Leo) Smith. A celebration of his life will take place Monday April 4, 2016 at 11 AM at Immanuel Baptist Church; 1324 Chapel St. New Haven, CT 06511, with visitation from 10-11 AM.
