Curtis Battle, Sr., 71, of New Haven entered eternal rest on Sunday, May 15, 2016.
He was born in Macclesfield, NC to the late Cullen and Mary Battle, Sr. He served honorably with the United States Marine Corps prior to being employed as a Maintainer for the CT Department of Transportation. He leaves to cherish his memory, sons; Curtis (Andrea) Cannon of SC and Clifton (Madia) Battle of Hamden; daughters; Anita Battle and Crystal (Chad) Dawson, both of Hamden; brothers; Lee (Laura)Best and Clifton Battle, both of MD; sisters; Mary (Jesse) Artis and Jean Battle, both of MD; longtime companion, Charlene Chesson; former wife, Paula Jeffers; step-daughters; and a host of family and friends. He was predeceased by his son, Curtis Battle, Jr., brother, Cullen Battle, Jr., and sisters; Nellie (Duke) Allen and Rosa Battle. A celebration of his life will be held Friday, May 20, 2016 at 11:00 AM, with visitation Friday from 9:00 – 11:00 AM at Faith Refuge Church of Christ, 70 West St., New Haven, CT 06519.
