Doretha “Gerri” Clement, 70, of 50 Grand Ave., New Haven passed away suddenly on Sept. 28, 2012 at her home.
She was born in Fayetteville, N.C. on June 6, 1942. Prior to her retirement, she worked as a clerk and records keeper for the Dept. of Housing and Urban Development. She is survived by her daughter, Shirleen Dicks of Providence, R.I.; her son, James E. Elliott Jr. of Tampa, FL.; 7 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She also leaves her special sister, Toni Jackson and special sister in law, Ruby J. Spain, both of New Haven. She was predeceased by her mother, Willie Mae Covington Saunders; her brother, Robert Saunders; her sister, Lois Saunders and her great granddaughter, Rhyleigh N. Bridges.
