Edward Dwayne Knox, 46

Edward Dwayne Knox (Dwayne), of Coram, NY, formerly of New Haven, CT died Wednesday October 22, 2014 at home after a long battle with cancer.

Edward was born March 9, 1968 in New Haven, son of John E. and Beverly L. Knox. He graduated from Wilbur Cross High School where he later worked and coached football and basketball. He also coached at Connetquot High School and Longwood Youth Sports Association. Along with working for Concern for Independent Living, Edward touched many lives in a loving way and leaves a great Legacy. 

Edward is survived by his loving Wife, Dilys, two(2) Sons, Miles and Andrew; Father; John Edward Knox, New Haven, CT, Mother; Beverly Louise Knox, Russellville, AR; Five(5) Brothers; Terrence B. Knox(Brandi), Queens, NY, Stefan L. Knox(Denedra), Kelvin L. Knox(Audra), Jarrod D. Knox, New Haven, CT, Terrence D. Knox, Washington, DC, Grandmother; Geraldine Wilson, Russellville, AR, Brother-in-Law; Paul Whyte(Nyree), Sister-in-Law, Gaye Olive Whyte-Effinger(Michael), Very Special Aunt, Lisa Wilson Willis, Uncles, Aunts, Nephews, Nieces, Relatives and good Friends. 

His family would like to thank the staff at Sloan Cancer Center and others for the care and concerns shown. Friends may call Saturday morning from 9 – 11 am viewing, 11:00 am service at Christian Tabernacle Baptist Church, 425 Newhall Street, Hamden, CT 06517. Burial will follow in Calverton, NY at the Calverton National Cemetery on Monday, November 3, 2014 at 1:00pm. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory will be accepted for LYSA Football, 101A Village Drive, Ridge, NY 11961 or Sloan Kettering Memorial Hospital. Services by Howard K.
