Ella B. McMillian, 72, of New Haven, departed this life June 6, 2014.
She was the wife of John McMillian Jr.
Born in Greenville, NC, January 12, 1942. She was the daughter of the late Hinton Brooks Jones and Lillian B. Pierce.
Prior to retiring, Mrs. McMillian was employed at the former Winchester, U.S. Repeating Arms and was a longtime member of St. James Unity Holiness Church.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, Phillip Smith; daughters, Demetria “Misha” and Niyobe “Yobe” McMillian; brothers, Rodney, Reggie, Randy and Howard Jones; sisters, Deborah and Darlene Jones as well as Ernestine “Teen” Huckaby; grandchildren: Matthew Wrice, Philitia Smith, Devonte Morris and Kayla McMillian; and a host of other relatives and friends.
A celebration of Mrs. McMillian’s life and legacy will be held Friday, June 13, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. at Immanuel Missionary Baptist Church, 1324 Chapel St., New Haven. Viewing will be held at the church from 9:00 – 11:00 a.m. Burial will be in Beaverdale Memorial Park.
