Ellean Cogdell, 86, of New Haven, departed this life April 25, 2013.
She was the widow of Frank Cogdell.
Born in Greene County, NC, October 25, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Oscar and Daisy Smith Tyson.
She was a member of Union Temple Church in New Haven for over 50 years.
Mrs. Cogdell is survived by sons, Willie Earl (Doris) and Frank L. Cogdell (Helen); daughters, Estherleen Clomon (John) and Dazell “Gail” McKiver (Tim); 17 grandchildren; and a host of great grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
She was predeceased by a son, David Cogdell; brothers, Dick, Levy and Willie Tyson; sisters, Lucille Mills, Joyce Peterson and Ruth Tyson; and three grandchildren.
A celebration of Mrs. Cogdell’s life and legacy will be held Friday, May 3, 2013, at 11:00 A.M. at Union Temple Church, 54 Platt St. (corner of Platt and Elm St.), New Haven.
