Enid Black, 86

Enid L. Black, 86, of New Haven, departed this life April 18, 2012.

She was the widow of John Black.
Born in New York, NY, February 23, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Peter and Ina Mullings.
Prior to retiring, she was employed by U.S. Repeating Arms as a Machine Operator. Mrs. Black was a member of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church.
She is survived by a daughter, Patricia A. Cables; a brother, Vincent Mullings; a stepdaughter, Megan Morris; three grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and a great-great grandchild. She was predeceased by two sons, both named Gordon Howard Cables; and brothers, Kenneth and Sidney Mullings.
A Requiem Mass to celebrate Mrs. Black’s life and legacy will be held Tuesday, April 24, 2012, at 11:00 A.M. at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, 111 Whalley Ave., New Haven. Viewing and visitation will be held at the church from 10:00 – 11:00 A.M. Burial will be private. Professional services entrusted to Curvin K. Council Funeral Home, 128 Dwight St., New Haven.
