Eric G. Edmonds, 49

Eric G. Edmonds, 49, passed away unexpectedly on December 30, 2014. He was born in New Haven, CT July 15, 1965 to the late John A. and Joan (Jaynes) Edmonds of Hamden.

Eric received his early education from the Hamden Public School System and graduated in 1983 from Hamden High School. He completed two years at Morgan State University prior to obtaining his computer science certification from Computer Processing Institute in Bridgeport, CT.
He was gainfully employed at Metropolitan Life Insurance Company in Wilton, CT for 10 years. He also became the loving long term care provider for his ailing father.

Eric was a sports enthusiast who spent his free time watching martial arts movies and Dallas Cowboys football games.

In addition to his loving mother, he leaves to mourn sisters Carol Y. Edmonds of Clinton, MD and Nancy Hill (Howard) of Hamden. Aunts Sally E. Watson of Manchester, Julia Edmonds of Enfield & Jackie Jaynes of Waterbury. Uncles Robert Johnson of Fort Washington, MD & Irving Jaynes, Jr of Marietta, GA. Also left to mourn are his nephew and niece, Matthew and Kendra Hill who were the true love of his life and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.

A celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, January 6, 2015, 11am at Grace & St. Peters Episcopal Church, 2927 Dixwell Avenue, Hamden, CT 06518. Calling hours Tuesday, January 6, 2015 from 9 – 10:15am at Howard K. Hill Funeral Services, 1287 Chapel Street, New Haven, CT 06511. Interment will take place in Beaverdale Memorial Park, New Haven.

As a legacy of Eric’s unwavering love and devotion to his father; memorial donations can be made to benefit the John A. Edmonds Scholarship Fund. Checks should be made payable to the John A. Edmonds Scholarship Fund and mailed to: 70 Audubon Street, New Haven, CT 06510 in care of The Community Foundation.
