Ernest Lee Dawson, 67, of New Haven, departed this life July 12.
Born in Darlington, S.C., on June 1, 1944, he was the son of the late Joel and Annette Dawson.
Prior to retiring, Mr. Dawson was employed at Amity Regional High School as a custodian.
He is survived by a son, Ernest D. Dawson, Jr.; daughters Melinda and April Dawson; brothers James, Monroe, Johnnie, Roy and Ricky Dawson; sisters Mae Frances Bailey, Patricia Dawson and Mildred Mullings; eight grandchildren, two great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
A celebration of Mr. Dawson’s life and legacy will be held Saturday, July 16, at 11 a.m. at Williams Memorial Church, 95 Bishop Williams Court, Ansonia. Viewing and visitation will be held at the church from 10 – 11 a.m. Burial will be private.
