Etta Virginia Harris, 69 of New Haven went home to be with the Lord September 20, 2009. Etta was born July 31, 1940 in Warren County, NC to the late Kemp Boyd and Lula Hargrove. She leaves to cherish her memory; sons, Joseph Harris, Jr. and David Armstrong; daughters, Alma Hargrove, Faye Hargrove, Joyce (Marvin) Mabery, Frances Harris all of New Haven; brothers, Clint Hargrove of Henderson, NC; sisters, Sarah McIver of New Haven, Luna Williams of Richmond, VA, Molly Hargrove of Atlanta, GA, Linda Burton of Raleigh, NC, Ella Devreaux of Philadelphia, PA; 18 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren; lifelong companion, David Armstrong, Sr. and a host of relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph Harris, Sr., brothers, Wendell, Herman, Boyd, Jr. and William Hargrove. A celebration of her life will take place Friday September 25, 2009 at 11:00 AM at Shekinah Glory Apostolic Church, 715 Dixwell Ave New Haven, CT 06511.
