Evine Gibbs Brunson, 72, of New Haven, passed away May 30, 2017.
She was born in Hyde County, N.C. to the late Sim and Bessie Barrow Gibbs on June 8, 1944. She enjoyed raising her children and lending a helping hand to those in need.
Evine leaves to cherish her memory, her loving husband of 56 years, Archie Brunson; sons, Archie Brunson, Jr. and Calvin Brunson; daughter, Tammy Brunson; brother, William (Catherine) Gibbs; sisters, Arlease Edwards, Arneta Chesson, Mary (David) Coburn, and Bessie (Jimmie) Jefferson; grandson she raised, Kelvin Brunson; three grandchildren; special friends, Bradley and Hope Flemming; and a host of relatives and friends.
A celebration of her life will take place Tuesday at 11 a.m. at St. Paul’s U.A.M.E. Church, 150 Dwight St, New Haven, CT 06511. Friends may call Tuesday at the church from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Interment will be at Evergreen Cemetery in New Haven. Services performed by Howard K.
