Fannie Mae Gore, 74

Fannie Mae Gore, 74, of New Haven, CT; born February 25, 1941 in Mt. Gilead, NC to the late William Chappell and the late Nancy Little, passed away on January 14, 2016 in New Haven, CT.

Fannie Mae was an easy going woman with a heart of gold — The Community Mother”. She loved to cook, shop, and dress; but most of all, she loved her family. Fannie Mae was a member of Faith Temple Deliverance Center. She leaves to cherish her memory; sons Calvin Chappell of New Haven and Alvin Chappell of Ansonia; daughters Mary Saunders and son-in-law Melvin Saunders, Jr. of West Haven and Debra Chappell of New Haven; sister Sarah Chappell of New Haven; 6 grandchildren, Melvin Saunders III, Alvin Chappell Jr., Alexander Hinton, Akayla McKinnie, Dainelle Hill, Laquavia Quicksey; 1 great grandchild, Melvin Saunders IV and a host of family and friends. Along with her parents, Fannie Mae was predeceased by brothers Willie, Ira, Billie Ray and Alfred Chappell and sisters Josephine Little and Nannie Haywood. A Celebration of Her Life will take place on, Friday January 22 at 11:00 AM at Macedonia Church of God in Christ; 151 Newhall Street New Haven, CT 06511 with visitation at the church Friday from 10:00 – 11:00. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery. Services by Howard K.
