Flora Flo” Consiglio, 88

Flora Flo” Consiglio, 88, of Central Ave., New Haven passed away Sept. 24, 2012 in St. Raphael’s Campus of Yale New Haven Hospital.

She was the widow of Salvatore Sally” Consiglio. Mrs. Consiglio was born in New Haven Feb. 23, 1924, daughter of the late Benedetto and Maria Cozzi. She began her storied career at Sally’s Apizza on Wooster St. in the mid 1950’s and continued to operate the restaurant after her husband’s death in 1989 until her recent illness. She is survived by one daughter, Ruth F. Consiglio of New Haven; two sons, Robert G. (Deborah) Consiglio of Bethany and Richard E. (Patricia) Consiglio of North Guilford; four grandchildren, Matthew, Nicholas, Krista and Hannah Sally Consiglio; two great grandchildren; her devoted friends, Theresa Baldino and Tina Corvi; as well as a legion of loyal patrons and friends. She was predeceased by four brothers, Edward, Alphonse, Albert & Anthony Cozzi and seven sisters, Ronata (Ronnie) Puglisi, Jennie Schultz, Mary Pavarotti, Lucy Cozzi, Faye D’Amato, Virginia Calling & Rose Mongillo. Friends may call at The Celentano Funeral Home, 424 Elm St. (cor. Dwight) New Haven Friday from 3 to 9 pm and are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Aedan’s Church, 112 Fountain St., Saturday morning at 10:00. Interment will follow in St. Lawrence Cemetery.
