George E. Holloway, 82, of New Haven, passed away Jan. 26, 2017.
He was born in Durham, N.C. to the late John and Nellie Holloway on Dec. 23, 1934. He retired after 38 years of service as a painter/lead man from Sikorsky Aircraft (United Technologies Corporation).
George leaves to cherish his memory, loving wife, Mary E. Holloway; daughters, Cheryl (Malcolm) Lytell, Brenda Holloway, and Lisa (Sterling) Mitchell; grandchildren, MyAsia Lytell, Saniya Futrell, and Andrew Mitchell; sisters, Lucy (Donald) Fleming and Charlene Holloway; brothers, Freeman Holloway and Clifton Holloway; sisters-in-law, Dorothy Holloway and Hazel Dawson; brother-in-law, Linwood (Margaret) Edwards; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. He was predeceased by his sisters, Martha Holloway and Shirley Ann Miller; and brothers, Joseph Holloway and Cassius Holloway.
A celebration of life will take place Feb. 4, 2017 at 9:30 a.m. at Community Baptist Church, 143 Shelton Ave, New Haven, CT 06511. Friends may call Saturday at the church from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. Interment will take place at Beaverdale Memorial Park, New Haven. Services by Howard K.
