George Fitch

George Malcolm Fitch, Jr. of New Haven passed away June 6, 2010. Affectionately known as Malcolm,” he was born September 30, 1942 in New Haven, CT to George and Lucille Grant-Fitch. He was self-employed as a Bail Bondsmen for over 25 years after having worked in various occupations in cooking, sales and management. Malcolm was co-founder of the original Malcolm’s Jazz Café”. He was presently serving as Chairman of the Past Masters Council, but served in various roles with the Grand Lodge of CT, Eureka Chapter #1 and #2 and Order of the Eastern Star and Arabic Temple No. 40. After moving through the ranks of various Masonic Orders, he was elevated to the 33° by the United Supreme Council. Malcolm was also a member of various Civic organizations throughout the Greater New Haven community. He leaves to cherish his memory, Wife, Jewell Fitch of New Haven; son, James (Jay) Fitch; sister, Helene Fitch, four grandchildren, one great grandchild, two aunts and many cousins. A celebration of his life will take place Saturday June 12, 2010 at 9 AM at Immanuel Missionary Baptist Church, 1324 Chapel Street New Haven, CT 06511. Friends may call Friday, June 11, 2010 at the church from 5 – 8:00 PM and Saturday June12, 2010 from 8 – 9:00 AM. The Masonic service will be held Friday at the church at 6:00 PM. Interment is private. Services by Howard K.
