George T. Estes, 88, passed away Oct. 2, 2016.
He was born in Dumas, Arkansas on June 4, 1928 to the late Frank and Ethel Estes. He served honorably in the U.S. Army and fought in the Korean War. He retired from Winchester Repeating Arms where he worked for 38 years as a machinist.
George leaves to cherish his memories, son, Marvin Estes; daughters, Donna (Willie) Wilson and Susan Estes; brothers, Cecil Estes and Thomas (Beula) Estes; sisters, Anna Mae Doris Estes, Frances Stancil, Emma Jean (Chester) Bordeaux, and Iona Seals; five grandchildren, including Sherrie Wilson; two great grandchildren; and a host of relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his loving wife, Lela Estes; brothers, Eddy Estes, Sr. and Napolean Estes; and sister, Rosalee Perkins.
A celebration of life will take place Friday, Oct. 7, 2016 at 11 a.m. at Trinity Temple C.O.G.I.C, 285 Dixwell Ave, New Haven, CT 06511. Friends may call Friday at the church from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Interment will take place at Beaverdale Memorial Park, New Haven. Services provided by Howard K.
