Gregory V. Jenkins, Jr., 28

Gregory V. Jenkins, Jr., 28, of New Haven, CT; died unexpectedly on October 29, 2015 from a brief illness.

He attended James Hillhouse High School and was a bright student. Gregory played semi-pro football for the New Haven Venoms and was a standout at his position. He enjoyed listening to Jazz and was a huge Giants fan. Son of the late JoAnn Horton and Gregory V. Jenkins, Sr., he was born in New Haven, CT on August 25, 1987. He leaves to cherish his memory; maternal grandmother Mae Bootsie” Horton and grandfather Leon Horton; sisters Lakisha (Lenewell) Hatcher of MD, Vonne Horton and Tova Jenkins of New Haven; nephews Michael Gaskin and Tremaine Jenkins of New Haven and Lemuel, Lejay & Lenden Hatcher all from MD; uncles Brian Jenkins of Conyers, GA and Khatib Abbass of New Haven; aunts Portia and Kim Jenkins of New Haven, Robin Jenkins of Atlanta, GA and a host of family and friends. He was predeceased by his paternal grandmother Bessie Jenkins, paternal grandfather Amos Jenkins and uncles Michael and Kevin Jenkins . A Celebration of his life will take place on Friday, November 6th at 11:00 AM at the Agape Christian Center; 90 – 100 Goffe Street, New Haven, CT 06511. Viewing will be Friday at the church from 9 – 11 AM. Interment will be at Beaverdale Memorial Park in New Haven. All are welcome to attend and celebrate his life. Services by Howard K.
