Gwendolyn Louise Buskey was born on April 24, 1961 in Orangeburg, South Carolina. She was the daughter of Frank T. Buskey Jr. and Janie Benjamin Buskey. Gwen passed away suddenly in a car accident on August 27, 2014.
Gwen and her family moved to New Haven in 1966. She was educated in the New Haven Public School system. She was employed by the New Haven Board of Education as a Substitute Aide for Celentano School. Gwen later worked at ACES as an Aide.
She enjoyed spending lots of time with her mother and Marie Staton. Gwen leaves to cherish her memory, three sons Jamell (Melissa), Robert , Rayvone Buskey all of New Haven; brother, Frank T. (Shawn) Buskey III, of East Haven; grandchild Joaquim Buskey; nephew and niece, Paris and Natasha Buskey. Also, left to mourn Gwen’s passing is Tyjuan, Larry, Patrice, Tammy, Jamelia, Shayna and Ryan all from New Haven. She was predeceased by her father Frank T. Buskey Jr.
A celebration of her life will take place, Wednesday, September 3, 2014 at 11:00 AM at Pitts Chapel UFW Baptist Church, 64 Brewster St., New Haven, CT 06511; visitation is private. Interment will take place in Hamden Plains Cemetery, Hamden. Services by Howard K. Hill Funeral Services, 1287 Chapel Street New Haven, CT 06511.
