Janice E. Jackson Saunders, 69, of New Haven, departed this life December 27, 2012.
She was the widow of Howard Saunders, Sr.
Born in New Haven, May 12, 1943, she was the daughter of the late Carlton and Ruth Jenkins.
Mrs. Saunders was employed as a Certified Nurse’s Assistant.
She is survived by a son, Michael Saunders; brothers, Dennis and Keith Jenkins; sisters, Patricia Emery, Jacqueline Miller, Marlene Green and Lorraine Nickerson (Steven); grandchildren, Kim Jackson, Lashay and Shanaira Saunders, Kirby Brown and Jeffery Lindsey; five great grandchildren; and other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by a daughter, Tracy Jackson.
A celebration of Mrs. Saunders’ life and legacy will be held Thursday, January 3, 2013, at 11:00 A.M. at Curvin K. Council Funeral Home, 128 Dwight St., New Haven.
