John H. Cates, 57 of New Haven passed away January 3, 2010. John was born January 22, 1951 in New Haven, CT to the late John Cates and Wille Mae Cates-Dixon of West Haven, CT. He leaves to cherish his memory; mother, Willie Mae Cates-Dixon; brothers, James Sasser (Carolyn) of North Haven, Kenneth Cates, Kevin Dixon (Judith), both of New Haven, Jarvis Dixon of MD; sisters, Carolyn Cates-Towles of New Haven, Beverly Cates-Pugh (Melvin) of VA, Doreen Cates-Henderson (Allen) of New Haven, Wanda Dixon of VA and a host of many relatives and friends. Along with his father, he was predeceased by his brother, Bobby Dixon and sister, Deborah M. Cates-Saunders. A celebration of his life will take place Friday January 8, 2010 at 11 AM at New Light Holy Church 198 Howard Avenue New Haven, CT 06519. Friends may call Friday at the church from 9 – 11 AM.
