Juan Scott, 67

Juan Scott, 67, passed away peacefully at Yale-New Haven Hospital on Jan. 17 with his loving family by his side.

Juan was born in Petersburg, Va. to the late James and Rosalyn Scott on April 1, 1950. He earned a degree in economics from the University of Connecticut and attended the Connecticut School of Law. Juan also studied at MIT-Harvard Business School under renowned professors Burch and Gibson.

He worked as University Connecticut’s regional director for Connecticut Small Business Development Center where he managed the Fairfield County Region. He retired after 23 years. Juan founded Scott Associates, which counseled and trained over 10,000 business enterprises over four decades.

He was predeceased by his parents, and brother Taliaferro Scott. He leaves behind his loving wife Andrea Scott, son Anthony Michael Scott, son Maurice Jarvis” Douglas, sister Carolyn Scott and granddaughter Gabrielle Douglas. He also leaves to mourn his passing a host of aunts, uncles,
cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

A celebration of Juan’s life will take place Monday 11 a.m. at Christian TabernacleBaptist Church 425 Newhall St. Hamden, CT 06517. Friends may call the church Monday from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Interment will be held at Hamden Plains Cemetery. Services by Howard K.
