Larry T. Young, 45

Larry T. Young, 45, lifelong resident of New Haven, born on August 10, 1969 to the late Larry T. Wilkins and Glenda (Young) Sherrod of West Haven, passed away suddenly at YNHH St. Raphael Campus.

Mr. Young was a self employed entrepreneur since 1992; he could be seen hosting and promoting many events throughout the New Haven area. He also attended Springfield College where he received his Bachelor’s degree in Human Services and Social work. He was also a licensed realtor, NAACP member and had a passion for cooking and travel. Even with his popularity he was always one to put family first citing his favorite quote, The quality of your relationships dictates your success.”

Larry is survived by his mother Evangelist Glenda Sherrod of West Haven, CT; his brother Lamont A. Young Sr. of New Haven, CT; his children (whom he loved dearly) Brandy Zackery-Young, Larry T. Young Jr., La’Shae Young, Ayana A. McDuffie-Young, and Ellis T. Young; grandmother Mrs. Margaret Young; sister Danyal Wilkins; brothers Larry Wilkins, Jacoby Wilkins and Dax Wilkins all of New Haven; his aunts Queen Cables, Mary Brown, Joyce Davis, Sandra Young, Phyllis Young; uncle Joseph Young, Bobby Wilkins, and Mark Davis; his sister-in-law Tyhesha Young of West Haven, his girlfriend Natalie Blake of Bridgeport; and a host of other uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Larry had many friends from New Haven, Massachusetts, Hartford, Rhode Island, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, New York, New Jersey, Maryland, Virginia and St Croix, US Virgin Islands. He was predeceased by his father Larry T. Wilkins; grandmother Charlotte Jones; grandfathers Papa Jones and Hezzie Joe Young, younger brother Glenn J. Young Sr. and Uncle Gordan Cables.

A celebration of his life will take place Friday, July 17, 2015 at 11:00 AM at Christ Chapel New Testament Church, 220 Dixwell Ave., New Haven, CT 06511 with calling hours Friday at the church from 9 – 11:00 AM. Interment will take place in Evergreen Cemetery, New Haven. Services by Howard K.
