Lelia B.J. Blackmon, 71 of New Haven, CT passed away on January 28, 2010. She was born to the late Clarence Jones Sr. and Frances Williams-Jones. Lelia had a love for cooking, spending time with her grandchildren, and doing crossword puzzles. She leaves to cherish her memory; son, Daniel (Shanda) Blackmon of Hamden, CT; daughters, Loretta (Bert) Rogers of Cleveland, OH, Donna (Jake) Whitehead of Harrisburg, PA, Linda (Briant) Wiggins of San Antonio, TX; dearest friend, Sam Rollinson Sr. of New Haven,Ct,;brothers, Clarence (Frances) Jones Jr. of Florence, SC, Henry Jones of Philadelphia, PA; sisters, Marie Dove of Philadelphia, PA, Dorothy (Desso) Canty and Joyce Jones both of Lindewald, NJ, Edith Hunter and Vivian Parker both of New Haven, CT; 8 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Lelia was predeceased by 4 brothers, Nathaniel Jones, Joseph Jones, James Jones, and Joseph Maybanks and 3 sisters, Ruby Ford, Annis Calicat and Mildred Jones. A celebration of her life will take place Saturday February 6, 2010 9AM at St. Matthews Unison Free Will Baptist Church, 400 Dixwell Avenue, New Haven, CT 06511.
