Lizzie A. Simmons, 94, of New Haven, passed away Jan. 31, 2018.
She was born outside of Columbia, La., to the late Paul and Lucille Wells Simmons on Jan. 2, 1924. She retired as a state employee in New York
City and was a member of Omega Seventh Day Adventist Church.
Lizzie leaves to cherish her memory, grandsons, Sean Akerson and Kareem Soto; granddaughters, Shawntel Soto-Simpson and Lavelle Smith Hall; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. She was predeceased by her daughter, Lucille Henderson Soto; brother, Clark J (Thelma) Simmons; and sisters, Ora Lee Fogle and Thelma “Bay” Simmons.
