Louis R. Hendrix, Sr., 90, of New Haven, passed away Jan. 23, 2017.
He was born in Darlington, S.C. on July 23, 1926 to the late Walter and Nancy Bostic Hendrix. He retired from Applied Engineering in 2012 where he worked as a machine operator.
Louis leaves to cherish his memory, son, Louis R. (Deborah) Hendrix, Jr., Michael Hendrix, and David Hendrix; daughters, Sheila E. (Joseph) Alexander and Patricia Hill; 13 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 2 great great-grandchildren; and a host of relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his loving wife, Meta Hendrix; brother, Matthew Hendrix; and sister, Elizabeth Gatison.
A celebration of life will take place Jan. 27, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Howard K. Hill Funeral Services, 1287 Chapel St, New Haven, CT 06511. Friends may call Friday at the funeral home from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Interment will be at Beaverdale Memorial Park, New Haven.
