Marvin L. Smith, 62, of Sheffield Ave. entered eternal rest with his family and friends by his side on December 21, 2013 at Yale New Haven Hospital.
Known as “Leo The Lion” he had a serious passion for music and was a hard working entrepreneur for many years. His warm spirit will always be remembered.
He was born to the late Coy and Zeline (Cuyler) Smith on July 24, 1951 in Savannah, GA. He leaves to cherish his memory; Daughters, Tonya Smith-Moye of New Haven, Diamonique Smith of Waterbury; Sons, Otis Jemal Baskins of Middlebury and Sheron Williams of Louisiana; Brothers, Coy Smith Jr. of New Haven, John Carlton of New Haven; Sisters, Mamie Smith-Taylor of New Haven, Vivian Polite of GA; Loving Fiance’ Tanya Whichard of West Haven; 5 Grandchildren, 1 Godson Terry M. Collins Jr. and a host of relatives and friends. Marvin was predeceased by daughter, Lakeia Vaughn; brother, Franklin Smith and sister Delores Malone.
A celebration of his life will be held at Agape Christian Center 90 – 100 Goffe St New Haven, CT. on Monday December 30 at 11am. Calling hours will be Monday at the church from 9 – 11am.
