Mary Stewart, 75, of New Haven, departed this life October 21, 2012.
Born in Monticello, MS, June 29, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Litterton P. and Myrtle Evans.
Ms. Stewart was the proprietor of Penguin Market in New Haven for 35 years.
She is survived by her children, Vincent, Anthony, Cynthia, Ernest and Cortez Stewart; siblings, Litterton, Shirley, Danny, Walter and David Evans and Gloria Lewis; 9 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.
She was predeceased by a brother, Albert Evans.
A celebration of Ms. Stewart’s life and legacy will be held Saturday, October 27, 2012, at 12:00 P.M. at Curvin K. Council Funeral Home, 128 Dwight St., New Haven.
