Melissa Lawrence Dawkins-Doumbia, 30, of New Haven; born April 27, 1985 in New Haven to Paul Dawkins and Angela Brooks Wilkerson, passed away on November 23, 2015 at home.

Melissa was an employee of Yale University and a Union Steward and E‑Board member of Local 34. She adored her family, friends, loved to cook and was an extreme coupon shopper. She previously worked at the Hospital of St. Raphael. Along with her parents, Melissa leaves to cherish her memory; her beloved husband Abdoul Doumbia; daughter Makayla Dawkins; son Harouna Aiden Doumbia and Paul Mohamed Doumbia; sisters Jessica and Vanessa Wilkerson and Teresa Dawkins; grandparents Judy Brooks-Seays, Harold Brooks, Shirley Dawkins and a host of family and friends She was predeceased by her paternal grandfather Jonathan Dawkins, step-grandfather Esaw Seays and step-father Raymond Wilkerson, Jr. A Diva Send Off Celebration of her life will take place on Tuesday December 1, 2015 at 11:00 AM at St Paul U.A.M.E.C; 150 Dwight Street, New Haven, CT 06511 with visitation at the church Tuesday from 9:00 – 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in New Haven. Services by Howard K.
