Oliver Coleman, Jr.

Oliver Coleman, Jr., age 57 of New Haven, CT, loving husband of Georgia (Ann) Green-Coleman departed this life Saturday, August 28, 2010 in Yale New Haven Hospital.  Mr. Coleman was born August 20, 1953 in Clover, VA to the late Oliver Coleman, Sr. and Susie (King) Coleman.  Oliver aka “Bonehead” grew up in White Plains, NY and attended public school there until he moved to New Haven, CT.  He was employed at numerous jobs, with the last one at Yale University as a custodial worker.  He enjoyed fishing, baseball and family time.  Besides his loving wife, he leaves a daughter, Tyshi Williamson of New Haven; step-children, Pamela Watkins (Ellis) of NC, Adrienne Green (Stacey), Jason Goodson (Crystal), Kassondra Calloway all of New Haven; brothers, Ernest Coleman of VA, Bennie (Tanya) Coleman of New Haven; sisters, Louise Morton of NY, Quitana (Colonious) King of NC, Annie Coleman (George), Mamie Grinnan (Willie), Pinkey Foster all of New Haven; 8 sister-in-laws; 6 brother-in-laws; 13 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.  He was predeceased by 1 son, Oliver (Squeaky) Coleman, III, 2 brothers, 2 sisters, 1 sister-in-law and 2 brother-in-laws.  A celebration of his life will be held Saturday, September 4, 2010 at 9:00 AM at St. Matthew UFW Baptist Church, 440 Dixwell Avenue New Haven. Calling hours will be held Saturday at the church from 8:00-9:00 AM.
