Oscar Poole, 89, passed away Jan. 6, 2017.
He was born in Sandersville, Ga. to the late Ike and Fannie Jordan Poole on July 18, 1927. He owned a local laundromat in the New Haven area.
Oscar leaves to cherish his memory, wife, Geraldine Armstrong Poole; sons, Arthur (Donna) Poole, Stanley Poole, Hugh (Kathy) Poole, and Gerald (Francesca) Poole; 16 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; one great great-grandchild; and a host of relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his eight brothers and two sisters.
A celebration of life will take place Jan. 12, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Varick Memorial A.M.E. Zion Church, 242 Dixwell Ave, New Haven, CT 06511. Friends may call Thursday at the church from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Interment will be at Evergreen Cemetery, New Haven.
