Patricia Yvonne Wilkes Williams departed this earthly realm for her heavenly home on Friday, May 23, 2014 at her home surrounded by her loved ones.
The daughter of the late, Mrs. Lethal Twine and the adopted daughter of the late Walter and Nishia Wilkes, she was born on July 20, 1951 in Grifton, North Carolina. After 37 years of service to the New Haven Board of Education, as an Educator, she retired in June of 2013.
Patricia leaves to cherish her memory her devoted husband of 32 years, Dr. Leroy C. Williams; daughter, Lauren Carline; granddaughter, London Carter; and father-in-law, L. C. Williams. There are far too many caring relatives and extended family members to list. Their love, kindness, and support have helped to sustain the family and will continue to do so. They all hail from Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Florida, but are only a call away.
A celebration of Mrs. Williams’ life and legacy will be held Saturday, May 31, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at Beulah Heights First Pentecostal Church, 806 Orchard Street, New Haven, CT. Viewing will be held at the church from 8:00 – 10:00 a.m. The Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. Memorial Service will begin promptly at 9:00 a.m. Burial will be Monday, June 2, 2014 at 9:00 a.m. in Beaverdale Memorial Park.
