Paul Wiley, 95

Paul Wiley, 95, passed away peacefully at his home on May 2, 2017. 

He was a lifelong resident of New Haven, graduating from Hillhouse High School in 1940. Paul was employed by A.C. Gilbert in various positions and then moved to a managerial position with ABT Industries. He also was employed with Connecticut Window and House Cleaning Company as a personnel manager, and finally as a bank security guard before he retired. 

Paul enlisted as a private in the U.S. Army in February 1942. In December 1942, Paul was promoted to Commissioned Officer 2nd Lieutenant. In June 1946, he left service completing four years of active duty as a decorated platoon leader and executive officer. He retired as a major while serving in the U.S. Army Reserve. 

Paul is survived by his daughter, Georgia Morgan; son, Paul H. Wiley; grandsons, Jonathan Ross Wiley, and Joaquin Rosa; granddaughters, Maya Wiley, Jessica Morgan, Paige Morgan, and Imani Romney Rosa; daughters-in-law, Patricia Romney; son-in-law, Huey Morgan; and a host of relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his loving wife of 50 years, Georgia M. Harris; father, Henry Wiley; mother, Maude Madson; siblings, Eric, Lucy, Maude, John, and Charles; and daughter-in-law, Louise Ross.

A celebration of life will take place Thursday at 11 a.m. at Bethel A.M.E. Church, 255 Goffe St, New Haven, CT 06511. Friends may call Thursday at the church from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to The Bethel A.M.E.
