Robert Daniel Massie, Sr., 91, of New Haven, departed this life August 18, 2013.
He was the widower of Doris Massie.
Born in Richmond, KY, May 22, 1922, he was the son of the late John Henry Massie and Ida Massie.
Mr. Massie served as a Minister for many years at The Supreme Council of the House of Jacob, Inc.
He was a WWII Navy veteran.
Mr. Massie is survived by his children, Ida Richardson, Nimrod, Absalom Daniel, Esther Darlene and Raphael Emmanuel Massie, Angelina Dickerson and Leota Jones; nine grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; six great-great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was predeceased by children, Robert Daniel Massie, Jr. and Anna Taylor; and nine brothers and sisters.
A celebration of Mr. Massie’s life and legacy will be held Saturday, August 24, 2013, at 9:00 A.M. at Immanuel Missionary Baptist Church, 1324 Chapel St., New Haven.
