Ruthenia Washington, of New Haven, entered into rest on March 4, 2013. Ruth was born to the late Felix Young and Maude Williams-Young on December 25, 1929 in Rosston, AR. She attended schools in Nevada County, AR. and worked in various positions at the Knights of Columbus, until her retirement. Ruth was an active member of her community, Bethel AME Church and Order of the Eastern Stars. She leaves to cherish her memory, children, Derrick Washington of NJ., Felicia Washington-Andrews (Malcolm) of CT; grandchildren, Lauryn and Malcolm Andrews, Malachi Washington; sisters, Carrie Mae Watley, Willie Mae Madden both of CT., Ruthell Allen of CA.; brothers, Lawrence Young Sr., Allen Young Sr. both of CT. Louis Young of AL.; brothers & sisters-in-law and a host of relatives and friends. She was predeceased by loving husband, Hugh Washington Jr. A Celebration of her life will take place on Monday, March 11, 2013 at 11AM at Bethel AME Church, 255 Goffe St. New Haven, CT. Friends may call Monday from 9 – 11AM at the church. Interment will be held at Beaverdale Memorial Park, New Haven, CT. Services by Howard K.
