Samuel D. Foster, 67 of New Haven passed away peacefully at home on May 27, 2014.

He was the beloved Husband of Patricia Newton-Foster, preceded by parents, Samuel & Doris Foster. He leaves to mourn him, sons: Daniel & Akim Foster, Daughter, Carol Santana; Stepson, Davon Newton; Sisters, Margo Walton, Doris Reddick, Marjorie Fitzgerald, Betty Cruso, Brother: William Foster, 8 grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Born in New Haven on June 12, 1946, a lifelong resident of the city of New Haven, Sam worked for the city of New Haven for more than 30 years, took interest in the community and how to make it better. He served as the liaison between City Hall’s Livable City Initiative (LCI) and the Hill neighborhood. A long time Mason, avid sports fan, Sam loved being with family and friends. Sam was CFO of Newton-Foster Home Care Agency LLC and Danae’s Training Center in New Haven CT. In lieu of Flowers donations can be made to the Family. A celebration of his life will take place Monday, June 2, 2014 at 5:00 PM at The Dixwell Congregational United Church of Christ; 217 Dixwell Avenue, New Haven with calling hours at the church from 4 – 5:00 PM.
