Shirley J. Bynum, 76, wife of the late Willie Jasper Bynum of New Haven, entered eternal rest on Saturday, June 4, 2016.
She was born in Georgetown, SC on December 4, 1939 to the late Joseph Ford and Regina Pringle. Shirley Bynum was the owner of W&S Market in New Haven. She was also an active member at Christ Chapel Church where she served on the Usher Board and as a Church Mother. Shirley leaves to cherish her memory, son, Michael (Denise) Bynum of CA; brothers, Frank (Lee) Ford and James “Randy” Ford, both of SC; sister, Louise Wright of SC; eight grandchildren; and a host of relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her son, Jermain Bynum; a brother; and two sisters. A celebration of life will take place Friday, June 10, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Christ Chapel Church, 220 Dixwell Avenue, New Haven, CT 06511. Calling hours will be from 9:00 – 11:00 AM on Friday at the church. Interment will take place at Beaverdale Memorial Park, New Haven. Services by Howard K.
