Stephanie Brown-Singley, 50

Stephanie Brown-Singley, 50, of New Haven was called to Glory on February 7, 2014.

She was born in New Haven, CT on March 11, 1963 to Rose Jones and Frank Brown. She attended Hopkins School and received a BA in English and Economics from the University of Virginia. She loved being a member of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, where she served faithfully as a Sunday school teacher and head of the Acolyte Guild. She worked as a parent educator for the New Haven Board of Education. She delighted in helping people and served as a resource for her community. A people person, Stephanie never met a stranger; she was bubbly and networked well. The avid athlete, she was a competitive ballroom dancer, winning awards with the Bowen Peters and Fred Astaire dance schools. She was also an accomplished bodybuilder medaling in her age group. She enjoyed participating in the Stratton Faxon Labor Day Road Race as a runner and spectator. She leaves to cherish her memory, her mother, Rose Jones; her father, Frank Brown; her daughter, Ashley Singley; her son, Alden Singley; her brother, Mark Brown and a host of family and friends. Funeral service will be held Wednesday, February 12, 2014 at 11:00 AM at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, 111 Whalley Avenue, New Haven, CT. Calling hours will be held Tuesday, February 11, 2014 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at the church. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Professional services entrusted to Curvin K.
