{media_1}Thalithan Rachel Higgs, 91, of New Haven, departed this life, October 18, 2010.
Born in New Haven, CT, June 16, 1919, she was the daughter of the late William and Alice Higgs.
Ms. Higgs was a lifelong member of Immanuel Missionary Baptist Church and was employed for numerous years at Saxony Coat Factory as a Seamstress.
She was an avid collector of horse figurines.
She is survived by cousins, Louis and Judith Campbell and their daughter, Andrea Campbell; a niece, Margie Carlton (John); great nephews, Alphonso and Kenneth Flemming. She was predeceased by brothers, William, Frederick and Joseph Higgs and a sister, Helen G. Higgs.
A celebration of Ms. Higgs’ life will be held Tuesday, October 26, 2010, at 11:00 AM at Immanuel Missionary Baptist Church, 1324 Chapel St., New Haven. Viewing and visitation will be held at the church from 10:00 – 11:00 AM. Burial will be in Hamden Plains Cemetery. Professional services entrusted to Curvin K.
