Theodore%20R.%20Pullen%202-23-1911%20-%2012-31-2009.jpgTheodore Pullen, Sr. 98, of New Haven passed away December 31, 2009. He was born to the late Kemp Pullen and Mime Solomon Pullen on February 23, 1911. He was predeceased by his wife Mary Alston Pullen.

Theodore was a compassionate man who often visited the elderly and helped the needy. He was known as a man full of wisdom and patience.

Mr. Pullen leaves to cherish his memory; sons Thomas and Theodore (Grace) of New Haven, CT, James of West Haven, CT, Joseph (Elnora) of Meriden, CT, and William Pullen (Deborah) of Hamden, CT; daughters, Ruthie Spruill (Joseph) of Hackensack, NJ, and Johnnie Ward (Frederick) of Waldorf, MD. He leaves behind five generations of grandchildren, relatives, and friends. In addition to his wife, he was predeceased, by daughter Mary Willard, son Nelson Pullen, brothers, Fred, Ollie, and Booker Pullen; sisters Emma Manley, Nana Harris, Celia Solomon, and Gertrude Coley. A Celebration of his Life will take place on Friday January 8, 2010 at 11 am at Immanuel Baptist Church, 1324 Chapel Street, New Haven, CT 06511. Friends may call at the church on Friday from 10 – 11am. Interment will take place at Hamden Plains Cemetery Hamden, CT. Messages of comfort can be left by visiting www.hkhfuneralservices.com.
