Vickie A. Allen entered into rest February 9, 2012.
She was born September 21, 1948 in Greensboro, NC to the late Charles Hauser and Mrytle Donnell. She worked as a teacher’s assistant at the Yale Early Learning Center in New Haven. She is survived by husband Melvin James Hunter Jr.; daughter, Danielle Hunter of New Haven; son, Melvin James Hunter III of New Haven and cherished grandson, Michael Martinez; sisters-in-law, Beverly Daniley and Linda Hunter of New York. Also survived by special friends Steve Liburd, John Daniley and Emily Stewart of New Haven; aunt Doreatha Daniley and a host of relatives and dear friends. She was loved by her family and friends and will be missed by all that knew her. A celebration of her life will take place at 11AM on Thursday February 16, 2012 at Howard K. Hill Funeral Services, 1287 Chapel Street, New Haven, CT with calling hours from 10 – 11AM. Interment will be in Beaverdale Memorial Park.
