Wilbert Hicks, 72, of New Haven passed away Feb. 16.
He was born to the late Lester and Fannie Hicks in Oriental County, N.C., on Dec. 8, 1938.
He leaves to cherish his memory: his wife, Maggie Hicks; sons Tyrone Hicks of Worcester, Mass., and Wilbert Hicks Jr.( Donna) of Woonsocket, R.I.; daughter Gwendalina McClain-Digby (David) of Maryland; and grandsons Tyrone M. Hicks of Worcester, Mass., and David Digby of Maryland. He is also survived by his sisters, Mary Hicks of North Carolina, Hannah Gaskins of Hamden, and John Hicks (Alvenia) of New Haven. He was predeceased by two brothers and two sisters.
A celebration of his life will take place Thursday at 11 a.m. at Mt. Gideon Faith Fellowship Church, 363 Dixwell Ave., New Haven. Friends may call at the church Thursday from 10 – 11 a.m. Interment will be in Beaverdale Memorial Park.
