William Lee Barnes, Sr., 64, of New Haven, departed this life October 30, 2012.
He was the husband of Sandra Raiford Barnes.
Born in Farmville, NC, August 22, 1948, he was the son of the late James Hornes and Dorothy Gray Barnes.
Prior to retiring, Mr. Barnes was employed at U.S. Repeating Arms (Winchester / Olin Corp.), Pennant and Leon’s Frozen Foods as a Machine Operator.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by daughters, Kera D. Gunter (Tim), Tamara D. Raiford, Verlessie C.B. Shoulders (Chawn), Jacqueline N. Barnes, Michelle Y. Labrador (Edwin) and Tiffany S. Barnes; a son, William L. Barnes, Jr.; brothers, Linwood (Mary), Clarence, Carnell (Tina), Wayne and Curtis (Lori) Barnes and Benjamin Cherry; sisters, Vivian Fields and Brenda Ann Barnes; ten grandchildren; five great grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Cynthia Chisolm and Marion (Ralph) McAuley; and a host of other relatives and friends.
A celebration of Mr. Barnes’ life and legacy will be held Tuesday, November 6, 2012, at 11:00 A.M. at Trinity Temple C.O.G.I.C., 285 Dixwell Ave., New Haven. Viewing and visitation will be held at the church from 10:00 – 11:00 A.M. Burial will be in Beaverdale Memorial Park. Professional services entrusted to Curvin K.
