Willie Edge, 62

Willie Frank Edge, 62, of New Haven, passed away May 13.

Edge was the husband of Annie Delois Edge and was born to the late Willie Douglas Edge and Mozell Lewis Edge on Aug. 27, 1948, in Longs, S.C.

Willie worked for Pratt & Whitney of North Haven and Hartford for 43 years as a lead machinist. Willie served his country in the Vietnam War in the United States Army and was honorably discharged in 1970. 

Besides his wife of 36 years, he leaves to cherish his memory: four children, Aisha G. James of Myrtle Beach, S.C., Brandon Edge, Ebony Edge, and Kendra Edge, all of New Haven; sister Clara Edge Wilson of North Myrtle Beach, S.C.; brothers James A. Edge (Elizabeth) of New Haven, Theron L. Edge (Sharon) of Mississippi, James Alvie (Patricia) Edge of Wampee, S.C.; uncle James Howard Edge of Wampee, S.C.; aunts Ella Ruth Edge and Dora Mae Edge, both of New Haven, and Bertha Edge of Wampee, S.C.; brothers-in-law Jasper (Queen) Williams of New Haven and Donnie Williams of Virginia; sisters-in-law Margie (Willie) Foreman and Bernestine (Lamar) of Maryland, and Celestine Williams of New Haven; four grandchildren; four godchildren; and a host of relatives and friends.

A celebration of life will take place on Friday, May 20, at 11 a.m. at Morning Star, 125 Dixwell Ave., New Haven. Friends may call Friday at the church from 9 – 11 a.m. Interment, with full military honors, will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
