Willie Ray McCotter, 62 of New Haven, born January 8, 1952 in Wilson, NC to the late Willie J. and Dorothy Virginia (Dixon) McCotter entered eternal rest on October 15, 2014.
He leaves to cherish his memory; wife, Barbara A. McCotter; children, Alisa Cates of New Haven, Raquel James of GA, Theresa Arrington-Heard (Lashon), Summer Bisson-McCotter of New Haven and Paris McCotter of Branford, CT , Jeffrey Lowe of New Haven, Darryl Bisson of Bridgeport, and Winter McCotter of NC. Willie Ray also was the loving father of Barbara’s children, LaTasha Council (David), Kimberly Telford, Earl Telford Jr; siblings, Curtis Dixon of VA, Dorothy McCotter-Grimsley of NC, 26 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his identical twin brother, Willie Gray McCotter; brother, George McCotter and sisters Bernice Dixon and Cora Mae Wilkerson. A celebration of his life will take place, Friday, October 24, 2014 at 11:00 AM at New Light Holy Church; 198 Howard Ave, New Haven with visitation Friday at the church from 10 – 11:00 AM.
